Terms of service

TL;DR: Use WordZam to read books. Don’t abuse it. Cancel anytime. We can suspend accounts that abuse the service. We’re not responsible for the accuracy of translations, verify with a teacher if it matters.

The service

WordZam (“we”, “us”) provides a real-time voice-driven reading companion for language learners. The free tier permits up to 50 lookups per day; paid tiers are billed monthly via Stripe.

Acceptable use

• Don’t use the service to harass, defame, or break the law.
• Don’t attempt to bypass usage limits or rate caps.
• Don’t scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell the service.
• One user per account. No account sharing.

Payment

Subscriptions auto-renew monthly. Cancel anytime via your account page → Stripe Customer Portal. After cancellation you retain access until the end of the billing period. Pro-rata refunds are not offered.

Accuracy

Translations and grammatical analysis are AI-generated. We aim for useful, but if you’re relying on a definition for an exam or a job, verify with a human source.

Suspension

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that abuse the service, violate the acceptable use policy, or attempt to exploit the system.

Liability

Service provided as-is. We don’t accept liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the past three months.

Governing law

German law applies. Disputes are subject to the courts of Berlin.

Changes

Material changes to these terms will be announced by email at least 30 days in advance.
