Reading to Anki Cards

Reading-to-Anki means making flashcards from the words you actually met while reading. In WordZam, saved lookup cards include the word, translation, and sentence context, then the app can export selected cards as an Anki-compatible TSV.

Why context matters

A vocabulary card from your own reading is easier to remember than a random list because the sentence already has a story attached to it. WordZam saves words inside the reading flow so you do not have to stop and build cards manually.

The workflow

  • Read a German paragraph, article, PDF, or book page.
  • Tap or speak an unknown word.
  • Save useful words with the sentence they came from.
  • Open the export page in the app and download an Anki-compatible TSV.
